Summer Staff and Volunteer Positions

Camp Lebanon staff and volunteers should be a diverse set of leaders who exemplify Christian values and will uphold the camp mission statement. They will support the camp program through their varied positions. They will live together in a community and share God’s love through healthy relationships and activities in a beautiful outdoor setting during the summer camping season.

 

CABIN COUNSELOR (Volunteer)

(Must be at least 18 years old)
A cabin counselor at Camp Lebanon should be an individual who is passionate about working with children and youth. He or she is enthusiastic about sharing their Christian faith throughout the week while living with and providing leadership to a small group of campers. To succeed as a camp counselor he or she should be positive, responsible, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun and safe camp experience.

ARTS AND CRAFTS/ SNACKERY CREW MEMBER (Volunteer)


(Must be at least 16 years old)
An Arts and crafts crew member will work on tasks to support the A&C program during the summer camping season. An A&C crew member is also responsible for working in the camp snack and apparel shop (aka the Snackery) under the guidance of the A&C leader and/or other assigned leadership.

KITCHEN CREW MEMBER (Staff)

Salary $300 weekly + room and board
(Must be at least 16 years old)
The kitchen crew is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen and dining hall.  Each member will learn the various kitchen and dining hall procedures and will rotate through each job.  The kitchen crew sets up the dining hall prior to the new camp session.  They will help prepare food for each meal, assist in serving the food during each meal, wash and sanitize the plates and utensils following each meal, clean counters, clean tables, sweep and mop the dining hall and kitchen floors, and other tasks that may come up during the summer season.

ASSISTANT COOK (Staff)

Salary $425 weekly + room and board
(Must be at least 18 years old)
The assistant cook is someone who has shown special interest in cooking and has given evidence of his or her ability in this area.  He or she will be responsible for helping the Food Service Manager (head cook) in carrying out his/her responsibilities including food preparation, ordering, maintaining equipment, clean-up, etc.  The assistant cook is in charge of all kitchen procedures during the absence of the Food Service Manager.

LIFEGUARD/WATERFRONT CREW LEADER (Staff)

Salary $325 weekly + room and board
(Must be at least 18 years old)
Lifeguard (Waterfront Crew Leader) must have the following up-to-date certifications:  Lifeguard Certification/Water Safety Instructor Certification,  CPR, and First Aid Certification. 
The Lifeguard/Waterfront Crew Leader is responsible for helping to plan, direct, and supervise the camp’s waterfront activities. They will supervise and give daily leadership to the waterfront staff. The Waterfront Crew Leader is also responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and testing of the waterfront and its equipment and interpreting, monitoring, and enforcing the safety regulations of the swimming and boating areas and programs. They will also maintain a safe, clean, and attractive waterfront and surrounding areas, including the waterfront bathhouse.

As the maintenance crew leader, you will be responsible for leading and directing the maintenance crew under the supervision of the Site Manager.  The maintenance crew is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary and safe environment in every area of the campsite.  The maintenance crew assists in keeping the camp buildings and grounds in good repair.  Duties will include but are not limited to cleaning, sweeping, mopping buildings and bathrooms, collecting and disposing of garbage, setting up tables and chairs when requested, cutting and trimming the grass on a regular basis, painting and repairing camp buildings.

STAFF ADVISOR (Staff)

Salary $ weekly + room and board
(Must be at least 23 years old)

Must have a valid driver's license.
The staff advisor is responsible for the leadership of the camp staff residing in Clayton Hall. This person must live in Clayton full time and help establish a positive moral attitude among summer camp staff. The staff advisor will spiritually lead the staff through weekly worship and daily devotions. They will be responsible for creating a welcoming, inclusive community environment and fostering positive relationships among the staff. The staff advisor will also enforce camp rules according to the staff handbook, ensuring safety, and mediating conflict. The staff advisor may also be responsible for transporting camp staff in the camp van.

Health Director-Camp Nurse

Salary $ weekly + room and board

The Health Director (camp nurse) works under direct supervision of the Camp Director and/or the Site Manager. The Health Director will live on the campsite for the duration of the camp session and provide on-site medical care to staff and campers. He or she must enjoy working with children and youth.
